My review on the latest house music release by Zedd.

Following the enormous success of Clarity, Zedd recently dropped a new house music track called Stay the Night featuring Hayley Williams from the pop/punk band Paramore. I got to see Zedd live when he was in Toronto and since I’m a huge fan of his music, let me tell you what my thoughts are on his new track.

Stay the Night is the newest release from top house music DJ and producer Zedd, from his just released deluxe edition of his first studio album, Clarity. The resurrected record has an additional 6 songs including Stay the Night and Zedd’s very popular and most-known remix of Alive by Empire of the Sun.

Although his album and the single isn’t the best house music I’ve ever heard, it’s safe to say that Zedd knows how to put together a tune for the masses. Stay the Night mirrors his first single Clarity with the catchy lyrics and crossing the line between genres pop and electronic. The vision of the song came to life with the release of the music video which received over 750,000 views on YouTube within it’s first 48 hours of premiering (Mason, Zedd and Hayley Williams, 'Stay the Night': Exclusive Behind the Scenes Footage, 2013). Considering that music videos in the EDM community are not very commonly played on national television, Stay the Night is a good house music video with professional dancers and good editing that portrayed the message of the song.

Being a fan of his music and unreleased tracks, I found that Stay the Night stretched from his real and original Zedd sound. It’s definitely going to be a hit since it’s radio friendly and features a known and popular female component. It possesses similar qualities to Clarity, which won’t make it a top house music contender but definitely a top-40 track that will be played on all radio stations in the GTA.

What did you think of Zedd’s collaboration with Hayley Williams?
